Yellow Room, Assistant Teacher
3rd year at VGM
Hello! My name is Jocelyne Jaime, and I am very excited to start my third year at VGM in the Yellow Room as an assistant teacher for Ms Kathy and Ms Natalie!
I am from Round Lake, and my first job in high school was working as an assistant Kindergarten teacher for Pleviak Elementary School’s summer program. My experience with the Montessori curriculum began shortly after in 2017 when I began working at Old School Montessori in Grayslake for the infant-toddler classroom. Later, I was given the opportunity to work in the 3–6-year-old classroom as an assistant teacher. Although my time at OSM was cut short due to COVID, I am very grateful! The experience was incredibly rewarding, and I learned so much from all of the teachers there.
Working with students has truly been the most heartwarming and fulfilling experience. I am a firm believer in children being our future and having the power to change the world. I feel it is up to us to provide them with the best care, compassion, support and resources necessary to succeed. Every student I have had the opportunity of working with has impacted my life greatly and has truly empowered me to keep growing and learning about the value of teaching and education.
I am finishing up my Bachelors at Northeastern Illinois University, and upon graduation I hope to attend graduate school to pursue a Master’s degree in Social Work or School Counseling. Outside of school I enjoy reading, hiking, going to the movies, and going to concerts! I love spending time with my family, friends and my sweet cat Tama!
I can’t wait to see all the wonderful things our bright little ones will accomplish each day! I feel so fortunate to be part of the Village Green family, and I am really looking forward to this upcoming school year!
