Rainbow Room Tots, Assistant Teacher/Nap and After School Club
3rd year at VGM
Hello, my name is Ivonne Kellogg. I am happy to be returning for my 3rd year at Village Green Montessori as an assistant teacher in the Rainbow Room.
I currently reside in Lindenhurst with my husband, two sons and Tabby cat named Buzz. My oldest is a Senior in high school and my youngest is a VGM grad who is starting the 2nd grade. I am a Native of Mexico. My journey teaching children started when I was in college earning my associate degree. I worked at a before and after school program at a Palatine public school. I then gained experience caring for infants and toddlers at Children’s World, a childcare center where I later became a lead teacher.
Then, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Colorado State University Global Campus. After my youngest was born, I became part of Home of the Sparrow’s staff at a transitional shelter for women and children in the city of McHenry. I enjoyed giving the women and children guidance and helping them become self-reliant. My work experience has helped me be culturally competent, a proficient multitasker, creative, and an active listener.
In my spare time, I enjoy painting rocks with my youngest son, going for walks, reading, and watching TV with my family. I am excited about the school year and look forward to meeting all the families and helping the children bloom along with Ms. Anna and Ms. Lakshmi.
